About Conlanging

The internet is full of resources on conlanging and this page is largely just a pointer to them.

Online Communities

The Conlang listserv is one of the largest online communities (if not the largest) for discussion of conlangs. You can access the list's archives here.

To subscribe, send an e-mail with no subject to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.BROWN.EDU, with the following body:

subscribe conlang (your name)

However, the Conlang-L is not the only online conlanging community; there are actually quite a few of them. There are a number of spin-offs of the Conlang-L hosted at Yahoo Groups, including the Conculture-L and several "workshop" listservs that deal with subtypes of conlangs. There is also the LiveJournal Conlangs Community (blog format), Zompist BBoard (message board format), and the langmaker2 listserv (also hosted at yahoo groups), among, probably, many others.
